Recently, I asked a
senate candidate a question: “What makes Sarah Palin so appealing to
conservative voters and such a polarizing political figure”? He said, “I
don’t know!” I realized at that moment the magnitude and power of my
question. I then shared my perspective in just a few key points, but in
writing this piece, I am able to expound a bit.
Here’s my
point of view: Sarah struck a chord with countless hard working Americans by
clearly communicating her position on the issues most important to voters in
terms they could understand: she had simple common sense solutions that
spoke to the heart of the people. Her position on government’s purpose is
one that is small and limited to serve the people. She made statements
like, “We are elected to do the people’s business”; “It’s the people’s
money” etc. I have heard from a number of Conservatives that Senator McCain
was not their first choice at the top of the ticket. It was Governor
Palin who energized them with her genuine demeanor and valued principals.
She has a mystique unlike many career politicians which makes her extremely
appealing to voters who are hungry for respect and leadership, and since
Sarah is not a “D.C. beltway hack”, her candidacy inspired voters to a
degree not seen since President Reagan.
Since I have attended many events over this past year and have received
comments from a couple thousand people, one might say my finger is on the
pulse of Americans who just want to work hard and be left alone and enjoy
the fruits of their labors. Since we’re all inundated by the corruption in
government, out of control spending and false hope and promises from both
parties, we are ticked off. Tax payers are looking for truth and a trusted
leader. We have found this leader with Governor Palin.
So what is it that makes Sarah Palin so appealing? She has
valued principals and doesn’t waiver from her beliefs. Her paradigm of
government is unlike typical “political hacks” of Washington and she doesn’t
need an interpreter to figure out what she is saying, unlike the elitist
politicians who dictate their positions and statements based on poll
numbers. She knows who she serves, besides God: The People and the
Constitution! We need servant leadership; A great leader who will appoint
qualified department heads to fulfill an American agenda and purpose with
strict budgets and productivity outlines. No business, run the way our
wasteful government is operating, could survive. This is not an endorsement
for Palin for President, only time will tell. Sarah is keeping folks
engaged, and if she has no chance, then why do the liberal degenerate progressives in control of the
lame stream media attack her?
People feel she is Genuine! “She’s like me!” as many of the
women I meet reported to me. “She is one of us.”, “She’s real”, and… “She
doesn’t have an elitist attitude!” People feel like they connect with her.
She is principled and values based when it comes to her positions. Unlike
typical Politicians, she’s not about Sarah Palin but about the people she
represents. I felt like Sarah was saying what was in my heart regarding the
duty of a politician which was to do the will of the people. The
Constitution states WE THE PEOPLE; not we the Democrats, Republicans,
corporations, big pharmacy, unions, and lobbyists.
Politicians are serving too many special interests groups and not WE THE
PEOPLE!

The Candidate will look for Free-Market solutions to the problems facing the
Healthcare industry, and will vigorously oppose any efforts to "nationalize
healthcare".
a) The Candidate will fight for Individual health savings accounts, that
includes "catastrophic insurance" for every American, so people can control
their own healthcare choices.
7) Education:
a) The Candidate pledges to "save" American children from the failing
educational system
b) The Candidate will fight to break the unholy alliance of the Democratic party
and teachers unions, which at best has institutionalized mediocrity, and has
failed children across the country
c) fight for "CHOICE" in education and let parents decide
d) fight for vouchers for parents
8) Social Security and Medicare:
a) The Candidate will "save" social security and medicare from bankruptcy.
b) Options will include "private retirement" funds so people can "control" their
own destiny.
9) Judges
a) The Candidate vows to support ONLY judges who recognize that their job is to
interpret the Constitution, and NOT legislate from the bench.
10) American Dream:
The Candidate accepts as their duty and responsibility to educate, inform, and
remind people that with the blessings of Freedom comes a Great responsibility.
That Government's primary goal is to preserve, protect and defend our God given
gift of freedom.
That Governments do not have the ability to solve all of our problems, and to
take away all of our fears and concerns. We need their pledge that we will be
the candidate that promotes Individual liberty, Capitalism, a strong national
defense and will support policies that encourage such...
It is our fundamental belief that limited Government, and Greater individual
responsibility will insure the continued prosperity and success for future
generations.
We the people who believe in the words of Ronald Reagan, that we are "the best
last hope for man on this earth," "a shining city on a hill," and that our best
days are before us if our Government will simply trust the American people.
I want a national divorce
The following message from a law
student is brilliant in its conceptual analogy of basic political
disparity.
Dear American liberals, leftists,
social progressives, socialists, Marxists, Obama supporters, et al:
We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest
election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we
tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations,
but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides
of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right, so let's just
end it on friendly terms. We can smile, slate it up to irreconcilable
differences, and go on our own ways.
Here is a model dissolution agreement:
Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking
a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides
can come to a friendly agreement.
After that it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives
can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct
and disparate tastes.
We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome
to the liberal judges and the ACLU.
Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA
and the military. You can keep Oprah,
Michael Moore, and
Rosie O'Donnell (you
are however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to
move them).
We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies,
Wal-Mart, and
Wall Street. You can
have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies, and illegal aliens. We'll
keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's, and rednecks. We'll keep
the Bibles and give you NBC and
Hollywood .
You can make nice with Iran
, Palestine , and France
and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.
You can have the peaceniks and war protestors. When our allies or way of
life are under assault, we'll provide them job security.
We'll keep our Judeo-Christian Values. You are welcome to Islam,
Scientology,
Humanism, and Shirley McClain. You can have the U.N. But we will no longer
be paying the bill. We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks, and oversized
luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.
You can give everyone healthcare, if you can find any practicing doctors
that are still practicing.?
We'll keep The Battle Hymn
of the Republic and The National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy
to substitute Imagine, I'd
Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or
We Are the World.
We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty
its best shot.
Since it often so offends you we'll keep our History, our Name, and our
Flag.
In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR on who will need
whose help in 15 years.
